Grandville, Mich., restaurant operators ordered to pay more than $2 million in back wages and damages following US Labor Department investigation

GRANDVILLE, Mich. —Li Jin Yang and Dong Lin, a wife and husband operating five Oriental Forest restaurants, headquartered in Grandville with locations across the western part of Michigan, have been ordered by a federal court judge to pay $2,030,430 in minimum wage and overtime pay and damages owed to 129 workers following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. Read more…

Frederick, Okla., to pay 29 city workers nearly $61,000 in minimum and overtime back wages following US Labor Department investigation.

FREDERICK, Okla. — The city of Frederick has agreed to pay 29 current and former employees $60,911 following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division that found violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act’s minimum wage, overtime and record-keeping provisions. The city is subject to the FLSA as a public agency employer. Read more…
